Electricity and Magnetism

The study of electricity is concerned with the charges in matter, which range from stable neutral atoms in solids to ions in electrolytes and free electrons in metals. Electromagnetic phenomena involve interactions between electrically charged particles such as electrons and protons, which are described by Coulomb's law. Maxwell's equations describe how electric fields and magnetic fields interact.

Mechanics

Mechanics is the study of forces and motion, including energy and work. It deals with objects that are solid, liquid, or gas, which may move, rotate, stretch, compress, or vibrate.
