Ancient Civilizations

Medieval Period

Beginning around AD 600 and ending with the Renaissance, the Middle Ages was marked by feudalism and chivalry. The Two World Wars

In the twentieth century, the two World Wars had profound impacts globally. WWI involved almost every major power and resulted in millions of deaths. Its aftermath led to the Treaty of Versailles, the League of Nations, and eventually the rise of fascist regimes. WWII brought further devastation through Nazi concentration camps, nuclear weapons usage, and the Holocaust, ultimately leading to the formation of the United Nations and NATO.

The Cold War

Following WWII, relations between Western powers and the Soviet Union deteriorated, resulting in the Cold War. This period lasted from approximately 1947 until the late 80s. It featured political tension, espionage, proxy wars in Vietnam and Korea, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and a global arms race. Despite the threat of mutual destruction, it ended peacefully without direct military conflict.

Recent Historical Events & Modern Age

Since the end of the Cold War, the world has witnessed numerous conflicts and transformations. With the advent of technology, communication became instantaneous, and information is now easily accessible. Political systems changed drastically: monarchies were overthrown, democracies emerged, and authoritarian governments fell.
