    Study Notes

    Order Blocks

    • Order blocks are a change in the state of delivery the market is in.
    • They can be identified by up or down close candles at a higher timeframe key level.
    • Order blocks are time-sensitive and have a higher probability of forming inside liquidity pools paired with an FVG.
    • The highest probability order blocks are those formed inside liquidity pools, paired with an FVG.
    • To validate order blocks, look at how sensitive price is at the mean threshold - If the price is in a hurry to move away, then the order block is valid.
    • Ignore the wicks of order blocks. The bodies of the candles will tell you more about what the market is trying to do.
    • The stop loss is at the low of the buy-side liquidity paired with an FVG (Bearish).
    • The stop loss is at the low of the sell-side liquidity paired with an FVG (Bullish)

    Breaker Blocks

    • Breaker blocks follow the same principles of order blocks, using key levels; they form when price takes sell-side liquidity for a bullish breaker and buy-side liquidity for a bearish breaker.

    Rejection blocks

    • Rejection blocks are treated as normal order blocks.
    • When price respects a rejection block, look at the distribution phases of the market.
    • Rejection blocks form when a high or low with wicks on the candlesticks utilizes the liquidity run of the candle bodies before going higher or lower.

    Propulsion Blocks

    • Propulsion blocks are ideal because of their speed.
    • They form when opposing liquidity runs (ideal) and a down close candle is traded into and respected.
    • The next down close candle (if bullish) will be the propulsion block.
    • The ideal areas are at the high and mean threshold of the block.

    Vacuum Blocks

    • Vacuum blocks are a reference point for future trades, not used as trade triggers.
    • They form after a highly manipulated news event such as FOMC, CPI, or NFP. The gap is a “vacuum” of liquidity.
    • The algorithm will want to trade back into the gap, using our understanding of vacuum blocks, we can use them as potential selling opportunities.
