- Associate Director: A Senior Coach with three Qualifying Points in a Monthly Bonus Period.
- Bonus Qualified: Coaches meeting specific criteria to earn bonuses within the Compensation Plan.
- Business Coach: A Coach who recruits, trains, and mentors new Coaches; synonymous with "Sponsor."
- Business Leader: A Business Coach who develops teams of Business Coaches.
Compensation and Bonuses
- Career Path: A structured path in the Compensation Plan marked by measurable achievements or ranks.
- Certification: Optional training providing knowledge and skills, allowing Coaches to earn bonuses and advance in rank when passing the Certification Exam.
- Certification Bonus: 3% bonus on Frontline Compensation Volume for Certified Coaches.
- Client Acquisition Bonus (CAB): $100 bonus for new Coaches who acquire five Frontline Clients with a total of at least 1,000 Frontline Qualifying Volume in 30 days.
- Client Support Bonuses: Sliding scale bonuses of 5% to 13% for Coaches achieving at least 1,200 Frontline Qualifying Volume in a Monthly Bonus Period.
Client and Coaching Relations
- Client: Individuals receiving support from Coaches and making orders through personalized Coach websites.
- Client Support Commissions: Flat 15% bonus on Level 1 orders in a Weekly Commission Period.
- New Client: A person who has never ordered through a Coach or directly from OPTAVIA.
- New Coach: An individual who has not previously purchased a Coach Business Kit.
Qualifying Volumes and Ranks
- Personal Qualifying Volume (PQV): Volume earned by an individual, not included in Frontline or Group Qualifying Volumes.
- Qualifying Point (QP): Measurement unit awarded for 1,200 in Frontline Qualifying Volume or a qualified Senior Coach Team.
- Qualifying Volume (QV): Volume assigned to items determining rank and bonus qualifications.
- Highest Rank Achieved: The best rank ever attained, important for recognition purposes.
Coach Ranks and Teams
- Director: Coach that qualifies as a Senior Coach with four Qualifying Points.
- Executive Director: A Senior Coach with five Qualifying Points in a Monthly Bonus Period.
- National Director: An Executive Director with three qualified Executive Director Teams.
- Fully Integrated Business Coach (FIBC): A Business Coach with at least 6,000 FQV and five qualified Senior Coach Teams in a Monthly Bonus Period.
- Monthly Bonus Period: Time frame for rank qualifications and bonuses, first to last day of each month.

- OPTAVIA Community: A network of Coaches and Clients supporting one another.
- Mentorship/Support Team: Coaches and leaders providing guidance and support within the line of sponsorship.
