    • Other rules and guidelines for operational safety### Equipment Operations and Safety

    • Derrick Escape Device or Emergency Descent Device testing should only be performed with a test weight of 120 lbs (55 kg) per OEM, and never by a crew member.

    • When not in use, the V-door safety gate should be kept closed to prevent accidents.

    BOP Stack Operations

    • When changing BOP stack rams, isolation valves should be closed to accumulator bottles, and LOTO should be applied to the accumulator electric pump.
    • Use one of the accumulator air pumps to open/close bonnet doors to ensure slow and controlled movement.

    Safety Signs and Communication

    • When a BOP component is closed, a "ram closed" or "annular closed" sign should be placed on the weight indicator or joystick lock-out box to identify which component is closed.
    • Pre-job safety meetings should be held to discuss risk assessments, procedures, and work instructions prior to commencing any job.

    Equipment Maintenance and Inspection

    • Driller/crew Supervisor should conduct a Pre-Job Safety Meeting (Toolbox Talk) and ensure it is properly documented.
    • Task Leader should review the Risk Assessment with team members at the worksite and ensure adequate controls are in place for all hazards identified.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Safety

    • While at a Nabors site, wear appropriate and approved PPE in designated areas.
    • Avoid manual handling operations that involve the risk of injury.
    • Wear impact gloves when handling tubulars.

    Electrical Safety

    • Do not use water hoses to wash down floors in the vicinity of electrical equipment, electrical switchgear, or generators.
    • Do not remove safeguards on running machinery, even if they seem to make the job more difficult.

    Lifting and Rigging Operations

    • Only 4-part anchor bolt type shackles are allowed for use by Nabors employees on our rigs.
    • Screw pin shackles are not to be used and should be removed from use when found.

    Other Safety Rules

    • Do not take shortcuts with company procedures or safety rules to save time.
    • Do not throw objects around the rig floor, down the V-Door, or off the side of the rig floor.
    • Stay clear of snatch blocks that are being used to handle heavy loads.
    • Homemade tools, equipment, and uncertified lifting gear are strictly prohibited on the rig site.### Lifting and Hoisting
    • When lifting or hoisting a load using mechanical means, personnel should move clear of the load once tension is placed on the hoist line.
    • If load control is a concern, attach a tagline prior to placing tension on the hoist line.
    • When lifting or hoisting a load near the well center using a floor winch/hoist, move the Top Drive as high as possible in the mast to reduce the possibility of the hoist line snagging on the Top Drive.

    Wellbore Protection

    • The wellbore shall be protected from loss or delay caused by improper procedures.
    • Use the hole cover and/or barricades when the drill string is out of the wellbore, and secure loose tools in use near the wellbore.

    Drill String Operations

    • Keep the drill string moving up, down, or rotating when in open hole, unless otherwise instructed by the Directional Driller, Operator representative, or Rig Manager.
    • Avoid exceeding maximum rotary torque by adjusting bit weight or rotary speed.

    Drilling Operations

    • The Driller shall ensure to always have adequate rig crew support on the rig floor to maintain seamless operations.
    • Keep the hole full and be prepared with a contingency plan for when complete loss of returns is encountered.
    • Discuss the plan with the Site Supervisor and Company Man before it happens.

    Well Control

    • The Driller is authorized to shut the well in if flow is indicated or suspected.
    • Always keep the hole full and be prepared with a contingency plan for when complete loss of returns is encountered.

    BOP Testing

    • Pressure testing of BOP equipment shall be performed as per API Standard 53.
    • Do not start with a high-pressure test and then reduce to the low-pressure test.

    Valve Operations

    • Verify the setting of all valves in the well control system according to the agreed management plan (approved Engineering drawing) for well control.
    • Open and monitor a wellhead valve below the BOP test plug to provide immediate flow indication warning to the observer.

    Safety Precautions

    • Do not walk away from the brake handle or joystick controls without first securing the drawworks.
    • Chain the brake down and set the parking brake.
    • Keep hoses, ropes, harnesses, and tools away from the rotating Kelly bushings and/or top drive rotating drill string.

    Mud Pump Operations

    • Run mud pumps at Nabors approved speeds/pressures or as per contractual obligations.
    • Replace the mud pump valve and seat as a matched set.
    • Do not use a worn-out valve in a new seat or a new valve in a worn-out seat.
