Study Notes
Ohm's Law
- Ohm's Law states the relationship between voltage (U), current (I), and resistance (R) in an electrical circuit
- The formula is: U = I * R
- This means voltage is equal to current multiplied by resistance
- Example: If the current (I) is 3A and the resistance (R) is 2Ω, then the voltage (U) is 6V.
Voltage and Current Changes
- The diagram shows a graph with voltage (U) on the vertical axis and current (I) on the horizontal axis. A linear relationship is shown between voltage and current
- A change in current (ΔI) results in a corresponding voltage change (ΔU)
- The slope of the line on the graph represents the resistance (R).
- The slope can be calculated using the formula: R = ΔU/ΔI
- Example: If a change in current (ΔI) of 3A produces a change in voltage (ΔU) of 6V = R = 2Ω
Cold vs. Hot Resistor.
- The notes show calculations related to the resistance of a resistor in a circuit.
- Different resistances are associated with different types of conductor
- Calculations based on the circuit components' variations lead different resistance values.
