    Study Notes

    nLight AIR Startup Process

    • Install and energize all nLight AIR equipment in a functional area of the building
    • Download the CLAIRITY + app and select nLight AIR
    • Create a site
    • Create a group, identify devices, and associate them with the grid
    • Set behavior zones for each group and save to complete the commissioning process

    CLAIRITY + App Functionality

    • Download CLAIRITY + from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for free
    • Enable Bluetooth® on your mobile device
    • Use the + button to discover wall switches and sensors
    • Associate devices with their location on the grid by tapping on the grid

    Moving and Removing devices

    • To move a device on the grid, select the arrow button between the plus and minus buttons, then select the device and choose a new location
    • To remove a device from the grid, navigate to the group, open the Group Overview screen, select Devices, and tap on the − button at the bottom of the screen
    • Select the device you wish to remove

    Occupancy Performance Optimization

    • Adjust the microphonics sensitivity to optimize occupancy performance for devices that have this capability
    • Set and adjust PIR sensitivity to decrease false trips in situations with an increased number of false trips

    High/Low End Trim

    • Adjust the maximum or minimum light level an output device can achieve by adjusting the High/Low End Trim
    • For 0-10V devices, tap the Low Voltage High/Low End Trim option and use the sliders to make adjustments

    Sharing Sites

    • Share sites with colleagues or customers by visiting air.acuitynext.com and selecting the Site Share tab
    • Click on the site you wish to share
    • Enter the CLAIRITY + user ID for another user and click Add User to grant access to the site

    Communication Architecture

    • Prior to devices being added to a group, the app communicates directly to each device via Bluetooth.
    • After devices have been added to a group, the app communicates with the group monitor, which then communicates to all other devices.
    • The Bluetooth communication distance is approximately 100ft, but the group monitor may be out of range. The app will indicate which device to move towards to facilitate communications if the app fails to connect to the Group Monitor.

    Troubleshooting Tools

    • Troubleshooting tools provide ways to check the health of your system or connect with previously commissioned groups
    • Use the Troubleshooting Tools option in the Group Overview screen to access the following options:
      • Troubleshooting
      • Connectivity Check
      • Health Check
      • Repeater Diagnostic Tool
      • Group Monitor Tool

    Decommissioning a Group

    • Navigate to the Group Overview screen and click on the Commissioned Devices link
    • Tap the Decommission All link to decommission the group. You must be located in the vicinity of the devices to perform this action.

    Physically Removing Equipment

    • Before physically removing equipment, follow the Removing Devices from the Grid process described earlier in the document
    • Failing to do so will result in the inability to reprogram the device that has been removed
