  • Form 1 (5320.1): Application to Make and Register a Firearm, used by individuals.
  • Form 2 (5320.2): Notice of Firearms Manufactured or Imported, used by licensees.
  • Form 3 (5320.3): Tax Exempt Transfer, used for transfers between two SOT taxpayers.
  • Form 4 (5320.4): Tax Paid Transfer, commonly used for individuals purchasing NFA weapons.
  • Form 5 (5320.5): Tax Exempt Transfer, used for:
    • Unserviceable firearms (repair)
    • Transfers to or from a governmental entity
    • Transfers to lawful heir
  • Form 6: Importation, with Form 6A to apply to customs.

ATF Forms

  • Form 7: Application for an FFL (Form 7 was mentioned in class, but not found in the book).
  • Form 8: Application for an amended FFL, used for renewal of a FFL application.
  • Form 9 (5320.9): Application and Permit for Permanent Exportation of Firearms.
  • Form 10 (5320.10): Application for Registration of Firearms, acquired by certain government entities, used for registration of seized weapons by government/police departments (Restricted registration).
  • Form 20 (5320.20): Application to transport interstate or temporarily export, rarely used according to the instructor.
