To obtain a driver's license in New York, you must meet seven requirements: be at least 16 years old, have a valid Social Security Number, pass a written knowledge test and a road test, complete a 5-hour pre-licensing course or driver education course, provide proof of identity and residency, and pay the application fee and license fee.

When applying for a driver's license in New York State, you will need to provide certain documents to prove your identity, age, and residency.
