- Led an army of 6,000 Syrian cavalry and defeated the Hindu ruler Raja Dahir of Sindh
- Established the Umayyad Caliphate's authority in Sindh and Multan, and established Arabic as the official language
- Introduced Islam to the region and promoted its spread throughout Sindh
- Died in 715 CE at the age of 20, allegedly due to poisoning, while in prison in Iraq
