- Week 3: Speech Preparation, topic selection, brainstorming, narrowing topics, determining speech purpose
- Week 4: Formatting the Outline, creating preparation outlines, stating specific purpose, identifying central idea and labeling introduction, body, and conclusion
- Week 5: Organising Speech Introduction, attention-getters (examples: questions, quotations, anecdotes, etc.), relating the topic to the audience, stating the topic
- Week 6: Organising Body of the Speech, main points, specific purpose, central ideas, topical, chronological, and spatial orders
