Montreal Convention
- Officially known as The Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules Relating to International Carriage by Air.
- Signed in Montreal on 28 May 1999.
- It aims to unify rules governing international air travel.
Conventions
- Includes the applicable Warsaw Convention and the Montreal Convention of 1999.
Coupon
- Refers to both paper flight coupons and electronic coupons.
- Entitles the named passenger to travel on the specified flight.
Damage
- Encompasses death, bodily injury, or wounding of a passenger.
- Also includes loss, theft, damage, or destruction of baggage associated with the carriage or services provided.
Days
- Defines as calendar days, including all seven days of the week.
- For notifications, the day notice is dispatched is excluded.
- When determining ticket validity duration, the day of issuance or flight commencement is also excluded.
Denied Boarding
- Occurs when passengers with a valid ticket and confirmed reservation are refused accommodation on a flight.
- Passengers must check in within the stipulated time limits.
Electronic Coupon
- Represents an electronic flight coupon or other value document stored in the company’s database.
Electronic Ticket
- Consists of the itinerary/receipt issued for electronic tickets, including Electronic Coupons and, if applicable, a boarding document.
Flight Coupon
- The part of the ticket that indicates "good for passage."
- In the case of an electronic ticket, refers to the electronic coupon detailing specific travel points.
Force Majeure
- Refers to unexpected and unavoidable circumstances beyond control, despite exercising all due care.
Itinerary Receipt
