Stallion
- Stallion: Adult uncastrated male horse (entire) used for serving females (stud purposes).
Mare
- Mare: Adult female horse used for breeding.
- Broad mare: A mare kept for breeding.
- Mare with foal: A mare and her foal running together.
Foal
- Foal: A horse of either sex less than one year old.
- Suckling foal: A nursing foal.
- Weanling foal: Foal weaned at 4-6 months of age.
