General Orders

• Take charge of the post and all government property in view
• Walk post in a military manner, always alert, observing everything
• Report all violations of orders
• Repeat all calls from posts more distant than the guard house

• Receive, obey, and pass on orders from the commanding officer

• Give the alarm in case of fire or disorder
• Call the petty officer of the watch if uncovered by instructions
