Course Objectives
- Understand that marketing is more than just advertising, brochures, or websites.
- Approach marketing as a logical, linear set of steps (Growth Gears)
- Learn to connect Insight, Strategy, and Execution
- Learn how to shift from running a company to growing a company
- Identify opportunities for growth
- Define Strategy using Target, Frame of Reference, Point of Difference, Reason to Believe
- Execute strategy consistently with these aspects
- Avoid "random acts of marketing"

- Restricted to students in the McCombs' Canfield Business Honors Program
Class Format and Policies
- Start on time
- Class sessions include interactive lecture, discussion, exercises, cases, quizzes, guest speakers, etc.
- Expect an average of at least two hours of outside study for each class hour
- Active participation in class discussions is expected
- Proper classroom etiquette is expected (respect for professor(s), classmates, guest speakers)
- Do not give nor receive help on graded work
