Rizal's Studies in Spain

Rizal completed his medicine course in Spain and was granted the degree of Licentiate in Medicine by the Universidad Central de Madrid on June 21, 1884.
He studied and passed all the subjects required for the degree of Doctor of Medicine during the 1884-1885 school year.
However, he did not submit his thesis and did not pay the corresponding fees, resulting in him not being awarded his Doctor's diploma.
Rizal successfully finished his studies in Philosophy and Letters with high grades, receiving an "excellent" rating (Sobresaliente).
He was awarded the degree of Licentiate in Philosophy and Letters by the Universidad Central de Madrid on June 19, 1885.
