Methods of Social Work

• Social Group Work: A method where the social worker guides group members to interact effectively and achieve shared goals.
• Community Organization: A method focused on community improvement through addressing problems and enhancing relationships. This includes objectives like:
  • Helping people handle problems more effectively.
  • Promoting positive changes in community and group relations.
• Social Case Work: A method where a social worker (caseworker) assists an individual (client) to achieve personal or societal goals. This involves utilizing client resources and community support, including agency resources.
• Group Work Method: A process that aims to enhance the social functioning of individuals or groups. It works with two or more individuals.

• Remedial Model (Social Work): A therapeutic service model where a social worker applies specific skills and knowledge in treatment. This model is often used in various societal settings (e.g., mental hospitals or family services).
• Intervention (Social Work): The procedure to begin assisting a client or group member through steps coordinated by the social worker. The social worker must use particular skills, based on the needs of the client or group members. The worker's choice of these skills is based on the context.
• Research in Social Work: Investigating facts about individuals, groups, programs, and leadership, utilizing scientific methodology.
• Recreation (Group Work): Activities that promote well-being among individuals and groups. This is sometimes conducted through associations.
• Group Discussion: A tool that enables social workers to learn about groups' needs and desires. Social workers may also modify the personality or behaviours of individuals through such discussions.
