Medical Technologist Professional Conduct

• Ethical Responsibilities: Accept professional responsibilities, uphold the law, and avoid illegal activities or questionable enterprises. Act fairly towards employers, clients, contractors, employees, and fellow professionals.

• Fair Competition: Use honorable means to compete for work, avoiding unfair practices that harm the reputation or business of other medical technologists. Accept employment from multiple employers only if no conflict arises.

• Professional Work: Perform work with reliability, accuracy, fairness, and honesty, earning trust and confidence. Review the work of other medical technologists objectively when requested. This applies to subordinates, employees, grant/contract proposal authors, authors of publications, and those involved in legal proceedings.

• Professional Advancement: Promote the profession through knowledge and experience sharing with fellow professionals and contributions to professional organizations. Maintain constructive criticism and avoid self-serving behavior.

• Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding information acquired about individuals during professional work. Disclose information only to authorized individuals or entities or when consent is obtained.

• Reporting Violations: Report any infractions of these principles to relevant authorities or the Ethics Committee of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists.

• Commitment: Commit to maintaining the dignity of the medical technology profession.
