Creation and Composition of the Board of Mechanical Engineering

Qualifications of Members of the Board
- Members must be natural-born citizens and residents of the Philippines.
- Minimum age requirement is thirty-five years.
- Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Required to be a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer with at least ten years of active practice prior to appointment.
- Cannot have been a faculty member of any institution teaching mechanical engineering for three consecutive years before appointment.
- No association with review centers or groups conducting licensure exam preparation in the last three years before appointment.
- Must have no convictions involving moral turpitude.
Term of Office
- Members serve a term of three years, with a limit of two regular terms.
- Vacancies due to resignation, disability, or death will be filled by presidential appointment for the unexpired term.
- A member can serve additional terms if the total tenure does not exceed two full terms.
Compensation and Allowances
- Compensation and allowances for Board members are equivalent to those of existing regulatory boards as determined by the General Appropriations Act.
