- Commitment is the daily duty of every NJROTC man and woman to work as a team to improve their unit, fellow cadets, and classmates.
Behaviors that Detract from Navy Core Values
- Hazing is any conduct that causes harm, abuse, humiliation, oppression, or demeaning treatment of another person.
- Discrimination is any act that denies equal treatment to individuals because of their race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or other differences.
- Sexual harassment includes unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, etc. This creates an atmosphere of fear and distrust.
- Fraternization is an inappropriate relationship between a superior and a subordinate that could result in favoritism or discipline issues.
- Hazing is particularly harmful to teenagers because they are vulnerable to peer pressure due to a need for friendship, approval, and acceptance.
- Fraternization is not as strict in NJROTC as it is in the Navy, but cadets should avoid friendships or romantic relationships that could create unfairness or favoritism.
