Management Regelkreis (Management Cycle)

  • The management cycle consists of five stages.
  • The cycle starts with Perception and ends with Control.

Stage 1: Perception

  • Identify problem: recognize a problem or opportunity.

Stage 2: Problem Solving

  • Following the management cycle: develop a solution to the identified problem.

Stage 3: Planning

  • Tasks: define tasks to be performed to address the problem or opportunity.

Stage 4: Analysis

  • Analyse the situation: examine the situation to understand its context and constraints.
  • SWOT Analysis: identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.

Stage 5: Goal Setting

  • Setting goals: define objectives to be achieved.
  • Defining measurable goals: establish quantifiable targets.
  • Setting criteria: determine the standards by which progress will be evaluated.

Control

  • Goal achieved?: assess whether the goal has been accomplished.
  • Monitoring & evaluation of progress & results: track and assess the outcomes of the implemented measures.
  • Adjusting measures/ Deviating from the plan: modify the plans if necessary.
  • Realizing/ Carrying out: implement the planned measures.
  • Ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and involved: communicate with and engage all relevant parties.
