What is a Macro?

• A macro is a set of automated instructions that can be used to perform repetitive tasks
• Macros are written in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming language
• Macros can be used to automate tasks, create custom tools, and interact with other Excel features

Types of Macros

• Recorded Macros: created by recording a sequence of actions in Excel
• VBA Macros: written directly in the Visual Basic Editor using VBA code

Creating a Macro

• Recording a Macro:
  • Go to the Developer tab (or enable it in the Excel options)
  • Click the Record Macro button
  • Perform the desired actions in Excel
  • Click Stop Recording
• Writing a Macro in VBA:
  • Open the Visual Basic Editor (VBE) by pressing Alt+F11 or navigating to the Developer tab
  • Create a new module or open an existing one
  • Write VBA code using the Editor's tools and syntax

Macro Security

• Macro Security Settings: can be set in the Trust Center (Excel Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings)
• Macro-enabled vs. Macro-free Workbooks: workbooks can be saved with or without macros, depending on the security settings
• Digital Signatures: can be used to authenticate the source of a macro and ensure it's from a trusted provider

Running a Macro

• Running a Macro from the Ribbon: click the Macros button in the Developer tab and select the desired macro
• Running a Macro from a Shortcut Key: assign a shortcut key to a macro in the Macro dialog box
• Running a Macro from a Button or Shape: assign a macro to a button or shape in the worksheet

Macro Examples

• Automating Repetitive Tasks: create a macro to perform tasks such as formatting, data entry, or report generation
• Creating Custom Tools: create a macro to create custom tools, such as a button to insert a date or a formula

मैक्रो क्रिएट करना

  • एक्सेल में वांछित एक्शन्स परफॉर्म करें
