- The Haryankas were the first powerful dynasty in Magadha.
Bimbisara (558 BCE – 491 BCE)
- Son of Bhatia.

- Contemporaries and followers of Buddha.
- Admired Mahavira.
- Capital at Girivraja/Rajgriha (Rajgir).
- Surrounded by five hills with stone walls.
