  • Muscles Paralyzed:
    • Lumbricals of digits 4-5
    • Interossei
    • Adductor pollicis
  • Presentation with open palm at rest:
    • Metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints 4-5 are hyperextended
    • Interphalangeal (IP) joints 4-5 are flexed
    • Interphalangeal (IP) joint 1 (thumb) is hyperextended when pinching
  • Presentation when making a fist: Normal
  • Additional clinical signs:
    • Hypothenar flattening or wasting
    • Weak pinch
    • Loss of grip strength
    • Lack of finger abduction and adduction
