Terms of Office:
- Speaker of the House (Mike Johnson) is chosen in caucus. The Speaker presides, recognizes members, and appoints, schedules, committee assignments. They also try to persuade their party. The Speaker is 3rd in line for presidency
- The President of the Senate (Kamala Harris) is the Vice President of the U.S.. They serve as president, recognize members, and call votes. However, they can't debate and only vote in case of a tie. Often they don't preside as president.
- The President Pro-Tempore serves as president when the Vice President is not present. They are typically the most senior member of the majority party.
- House/Senate Majority Leaders steer bills, guide committee chairmen, and persuade members to change their votes.
- House/Senate Majority Whips are a more powerful position in the Senate, watching for members' attendance. They're also responsible for persuading their members to support legislation.
- House/Senate Minority Leaders work for the minority party, as outlined for their majority counterparts.
