Flashcards

Proximal Convoluted Tubule

The first part of the nephron; responsible for reabsorbing most of the filtrate.

Distal Convoluted Tubule

A portion of kidney nephron between the loop of Henle and the collecting duct system; responsible for regulating pH, and electrolytes.

Nephron Loop (Loop of Henle)

A long U-shaped portion of the kidney nephron that concentrates urine.

Glomerular (Bowman's) Capsule

A cup-like sack at the beginning of the nephron that surrounds the glomerulus.
