### Laws Affecting Employee Benefits
- Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, No. 130 of 1993 provides cover for employees who get injured or become ill while performing their duties, employers contribute to a compensation fund
- Unemployment Insurance Act, No. 63 of 2001 provides unemployment benefits to contributors who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. Employees and employers contribute 1% each to the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF)
