Algebra: A branch of mathematics that employs symbols and letters to represent numbers in equations and expressions, allowing for the analysis of relationships and problem-solving.
Variable: Represents a quantity that can vary or change, often denoted by letters such as x, y, or z in mathematical expressions and equations.
Expression: A mathematical statement combining numbers, variables, and operations (such as addition or multiplication) without an equals sign, used to denote a specific value or relationship.
Equation: A mathematical assertion that two expressions are equal, featuring an equals sign. It can be used to find unknown values.
Evaluate: The process of calculating or finding the value of an expression or equation, typically resulting in a numerical answer.

Associative Property: States that the way numbers are grouped in addition or multiplication does not affect the sum or product. For example, (a + b) + c = a + (b + c).
Commutative Property: Indicates that the order of addition or multiplication of numbers does not alter the result. For example, a + b = b + a and ab = ba.
Order of Operations: The hierarchical set of rules that determines the sequence in which operations are performed in an expression (often remembered by the acronym PEMDAS: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (from left to right), Addition and Subtraction (from left to right)).
