• The vocational qualifications are also standardized by the European Union and correspond to levels of achievement that demand a certain number of European Qualifications Framework (EQF) credits.
• The levels of achievement for academic degrees are 8 in total and the levels of achievement for vocational qualifications are 9 in total.
• To obtain an academic degree, you need to earn a certain number of ECTS credits. To obtain a vocational qualification, you need to earn a certain number of EQF credits.
• The system of recognition for academic degrees is based on legal requirements.
• The system of recognition for vocational qualifications is based on the acquisition of skills that are recognized by the European Union.
• The title of an academic degree can only be obtained after you have completed a series of examinations that are based on legal requirements.
• The title of a vocational qualification can be obtained after you have completed a series of examinations that are based on the acquisition of skills.
• The system of recognition for academic degrees is based on legal requirements and the system of recognition for vocational qualifications is based on the acquisition of skills.
