Harry Potter Series
- Began drafting the series while on a delayed train journey from Manchester to London's King's Cross station
- Spent five years outlining the plots and writing the first book
- Moved to northern Portugal and worked as an English teacher during this time
- Moved back to Edinburgh, Scotland and completed the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, after her marriage ended
- The first book was published by Bloomsbury Children's Books in June 1997
