Origins

• Founded over 25,000 years before the events of the original Star Wars film (Episode IV: A New Hope)
• Created to maintain peace and justice in the Galactic Republic

Structure

• Led by the Jedi Council
• Comprised of three main groups:
  1. Jedi Masters: Experienced and wise Jedi who serve on the Council
  2. Jedi Knights: Trained Jedi who have completed their trials and are full members of the Order
  3. Jedi Padawans: Apprentices to Jedi Knights, still in training
