    Israel is located in the Middle East between Egypt to the southwest, the Mediterranean Sea to the west, Turkey to the north, Lebanon to the northeast, Syria to the east, Jordan to the southeast, the West Bank and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula to the south. Its land area is approximately 8,957 square miles (23,197 km²).
