Social Stratification is just one aspect of sociological analysis. Another major theme involves looking at various types of social groups like interest groups, membership organizations, support groups, advocacy organizations, identity groups and many more. These can play important roles in shaping cultural norms, behaviors, laws, policies and even political decisions.
Socioeconomic stratification relates closely to these ideas; it's the division of a population according to economic classes into higher class, middle class and lower class. This reflects different levels of wealth, education, job security and standard of living among members of society. A clearer understanding here lets us see how the economy influences people's behavior within their jobs, neighborhoods etc.
Finally, there's the concept of social control - how rules and regulations come into being, maintained and enforced by agents who want them upheld. Ideas driving this process come from different sources such as religion, law enforcement agencies, government institutions, schools, families etc. Studying this sheds light on how society manages its own affairs through policing, regulation and monitoring activities done consciously or otherwise.
