Many of us use tablets and mobile phones every day, using our fingers to manipulate and select things on the screen.
There are other ways to provide input into these devices, one of which is through the use of a touch pen.

A touch pen, also referred to as a touch screen stylus or capacitive stylus, allows you to manipulate and activate the interface on devices without physically touching the screen with your hand.
It is useful for tasks like taking notes by hand, signing your name on the screen, and performing precise functions.
It emulates the process of using a pen or pencil on something like a phone or a tablet.
It makes it easier to see what's on the screen, as your hand is moved away from the screen itself.

An active stylus provides more functionality and precise usability than a capacitive touch pen.
It can communicate independently with the device, even when not touching each other.
It recognizes pressure on the screen and can change what you're displaying on the screen as you're writing.
It often includes buttons that allow you to tap, double tap, or perform other functions without touching the screen.

An active stylus is commonly associated with a certain group of devices and may not work on other devices.
For example, Apple's active stylus, Apple Pencil, only works with Apple iPad.

A drawing pad is an external device that adds touchscreen capability to computers without capacitive displays.
It combines an active stylus with an external digitizer, allowing you to use it across many different systems.
It provides precise input and can be used with different operating systems.
