The Indian Air Force (IAF) Bill was passed by the Government on 4 April 1932.
The IAF came into existence on 8 October 1932, with the promulgation of the IAF Bill.
The Governor-General-in-Council ordered the establishment of the Indian Air Force, which took effect from 8 October 1932.
The Indian Air Force anniversary is celebrated on 8 October every year, commemorating its establishment.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born on July 22, 1856, in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, to a middle-class family.
His father, Gangadhar Shastri, was a Sanskrit scholar and school teacher.
Tilak was a brilliant student, exceling in mathematics, and showed an intolerant attitude towards injustice from an early age.

Tilak graduated from Deccan College, Pune in 1877, and later cleared his LLB from Elphinston College, Mumbai.
He co-founded a school that emphasized nationalism.
He was a social reformer, freedom fighter, and advocate of Swaraj (Self-Rule), earning him the title "Father of Indian Movement".
Tilak believed that independence was essential for a nation's well-being.

From 1908 to 1914, Tilak spent six years in rigorous imprisonment in Mandalay Jail, Burma, for allegedly supporting Indian revolutionaries.
The British government attempted to stop the publication of his newspapers due to his growing fame and popularity.
Tilak returned to India in 1915 and co-founded the All India Home Rule League in 1916 with Joseph Baptista, Annie Besant, and Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The league aimed to achieve Swaraj and had around 32,000 members by 1917.
Tilak traveled extensively to educate farmers about the league's goals and won their support.
He passed away on August 1, 1920, while fighting for people's causes.
