Imam Hasan (as)

  • Born in Medina on the 15th of Ramadhan, 3 years after Hijrah, as the eldest son of his parents.
  • His mother, Lady Fatimah (as), brought him to the Holy Prophet (saww) on the seventh day, wrapped in a silken shawl from Heaven.
  • Named Hasan (as) by the Holy Prophet (saww) on Allah's command, and recited the Adhaan in his right ear and the Iqamah in his left ear.
  • A ram was sacrificed for him in the ceremony of aqiqa.

Early Life and Upbringing

  • Spent the first seven years of his life in the company of the Holy Prophet (saww).
  • The Holy Prophet (saww) showed great love to Imam Hasan (as) and his younger brother, Imam Husayn (as).
  • The Holy Prophet (saww) used to refer to Hasan (as) and Husayn (as) as his sons.
