IIT JAM: Purpose & Eligibility

IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) is an entrance exam for admission to postgraduate programs (M.Sc., M.Tech., M.Sc.-Ph.D., etc.) in various IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) and other prestigious institutions across India.
The purpose of IIT JAM is to assess the candidates' understanding of fundamental concepts in various subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Biotechnology, Mathematical Statistics, Geology, etc.
Candidates who have completed a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline are eligible to appear for IIT JAM.
The exam is conducted once a year, usually in the month of February.
The score of IIT JAM is used for admission to various postgraduate programs in different IITs and other participating institutions.
