Typography Commands

• Drop Cap command enlarges the first letter of the selected text.
• Number Style command lets you choose different styles for number spacing and alignment.
• Swash command embellishes capital letters.
• Ligatures command connects certain combinations of letters to make them easier to read.
• Stylistic Sets command offers alternate versions of specific letters such as letter g.

Saving a File

• The correct sequence of saving a file is: (4) Click File, (1) Choose Save As, (2) In the File Name text box, type in the desired filename, (3) Press Enter or click Save.

Creating a New Publication

• To create a new publication from a template, click File > New.

Desktop Publishing

• Crello is an online tool for easily creating videos and graphic designs, for social media, print, or any other web-based graphics.
• MS Publisher is a desktop publishing application that gives you pixel-perfect control over design and typography.
• Canva empowers users to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, and other visual content.
• Adobe is a leading Digital Publishing platform to create and publish rich, compelling materials for print, the Web, e-readers, tablets, and other digital media.
• Foxit is the leading software provider of fast, affordable, and secure PDF solutions.

MS Publisher

• The Ribbon contains multiple tabs, each with several groups of commands.
• The QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) lets you access common commands by default such as Save, Undo, and Redo.
• The Home tab contains common formatting and styling options.
• The Help tab provides access to Microsoft Publisher's help resources.
• The Navigation Pane helps you control the layout of your text, image and objects on the page.

Auto Recovery

• To set up auto recovery, click Tools, select Options, choose the Save tab, make sure the box next to Save Auto Recovery info is checked, and set the number of minutes.

Printing

• Double-sided printing allows you to print on both the front and back of each sheet of paper.
• Collating printing setting lets you assemble copies of your publication with all pages in the correct order.

Publishing

• Publishing as HTML embeds directly into an email.
• Electronic Publishing lets you publish online.

Design Checker

• The Design Checker helps you find and fix problems in your publication that may lead to printing errors.

Page Layout

• Layout guides help you organize text, pictures, and other objects into columns and rows.
• Custom margins can be created from the Insert Ribbon.
• Grouped objects can be taken apart.

DTP

• Desktop Publishing (DTP) allows you to manipulate features such as page size, text, graphics, and borders to create professional-quality printed documents.
• DTP can be used for designing logos, business cards, and letterhead, making digital scrapbooks and print or digital photo albums, and taking work designed by others and putting it into the correct format for digital or offset printing or for publishing online.
