Retirement and pay opportunities and the interest in learning a complex mind-bending trade that challenges me and uses my creativity and problem-solving skills. I heard some great things about the union from my family and friends.

What are some of the experiences you have had in the past that increased your interest in becoming an electrical worker?

Different side jobs I have worked (renovation on store, outlet swaps, circuit building).

What knowledge do you have about what an electrical worker does on the job?

Read technical and wiring diagrams, including blueprints. Install systems for control and lighting systems. Inspect electrical systems. Troubleshoot & repair electrical malfunctions. Learn and adhere to state & local regulations based on the national electrical code. Train and manage other electrical workers in all aspects of the industry.
