- Cross the laces to make an 'X'
- One lace in front, the other behind
Making the Initial Knot
- Take the lace that is behind
- Pull it over the front
- Put it through the hole formed by the 'X'
- Take both ends and pull until the 'X' becomes a 'v' again
- The harder you pull, the tighter your shoe gets
Forming the Loops
- Spread the 'V' out
- Take one lace at the halfway point
- Let it hang on your finger
- Pinch both sides of the lace with your other hand
- Form a loop around your finger
- Pull your finger out
- Hold onto the open loop

- Lay it over your thumb and finger, in front of the loop
- Both laces should now be pointing in the same direction
Creating the Final Knot
- Use your finger to send the lace back to the other side
