Infection Control Program
- All department members are responsible for following EMS system policies and guidelines regarding immunizations and communicable diseases.
Exposure to Infection and Communicable Disease
- Department members must notify the Designated Infection Control Officer (DICO) as soon as possible after being exposed to an infection or communicable disease.
- Personnel must complete written accident reports and follow department and EMS policies and guidelines.
Emergency Medical Operations Protection
- Department personnel must wear and use infection control garments and equipment, including CPR masks, medical gloves, masks, splash resistant eyewear, and fluid-resistant clothing.
