    History of the University of Antique

    • Founded in 1954 as the Antique School of Arts and Trades (ASAT) with initial focus on secondary trade and technical education.
    • Offered initial courses in Ceramics, Automechanics, Furniture and Cabinet-Making, Building Construction, and Food Trades.
    • In 1968, it added a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education, followed by Bachelor of Science in Practical Education in 1976 and a Master of Arts in teaching Vocational Education (MATVE) in 1970.
    • Became the Polytechnic State College of Antique (PSCA) in 1982, the only State-owned institution offering tertiary education in Antique.
    • Merged with the Antique College of Agriculture (ACA) and Tario Lim Memorial Antique School of Fisheries (TLMASOF) in 2000.
    • Became the University of Antique in 2009 through Republic Act 9746.
    • Dr. Victor E. Navarra served as the first president of the university from 2009 to 2017.
    • Dr.Pablo S. Crespo Jr. was elected as the second President of the University of Antique in 2018 and was re-elected in 2022.
    • The University is composed of three main campuses: the main campus in Sibalom, and extension campuses in Caluya and Libertad.
