Shiv Kumar Batalvi was another poet whose contributions to Hindi literature are widely recognized. Known for creating unconventional poetic styles, he remained true to his individualistic voice even while facing criticism from fellow writers.

Moreover, Hindi poetry includes various genres that cater to diverse tastes. For instance, kabits refer to small ballads consisting of six lines with specific rhyme schemes. Another type is the doha, traditionally sung by traveling minstrels called bards. These consist of eight lines divided into four couplets, typically dealing with religious or moral subjects.
