  • Announce and soften rear and side doors, avoiding adverse effects on flow paths and fire control.
  • Stage equipment/tools/personnel near the Command Post, remaining a resource while acting as the R.I.T.
  • Assume proactive RIT, familiarizing with interior company and building layouts, identifying other hazards.
  • Monitor all radio communications for crucial information on the location and progress of interior fire crews.
