  • Heritages offer players the opportunity to build unique characters with diverse ancestries and backgrounds.
  • Heritages include bloodlines, cultures, and exceptional events that shape a character's development.
  • Players choose ability score increases, size, darkvision, bloodlines, cultures, languages, and 1st-level spells based on their chosen heritage.
  • Every creature, including player characters, has a creature type; most player characters are Humanoid.
  • Creature types include: Aberration, Beast, Celestial, Construct, Dragon, Elemental, Fey, Fiend, Giant, Humanoid, Monstrosity, Ooze, Plant, and Undead.

Fey Heritage

  • Fey Heritage represents characters with ties to the fey realm.
  • Traits include:
    • Trance: Allows for 4 hours of meditation in place of sleep, providing the same benefit as 8 hours of rest.
    • Charm Resistance: Advantage on saving throws against charming effects and immunity to being put to sleep by magic.
    • Cantrip: Proficiency with the friends cantrip.

  • Traits include:

    • Expert Forgery: Advantage on checks to forge or duplicate objects.
    • Thief's Intuition: Roll a d4 and add to ability checks using thieves' tools.
    • Cantrip: Learn one cantrip from the bard spell list.
    • Merge with Shadows: Cast the pass without trace spell once per long rest.
