- Providing dedicated operational response.
- Responding ambulance units/personnel to designated staging areas.

- Providing equipment, advice, and expertise to on-scene fire personnel.
- Initiating contact with necessary medical support services.

Securing Patient Information

No Patient Found on Scene
- If a patient or person cannot be found on scene, TFS Communications must be updated and will call the initial contact number back.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Level 3 PPE is required for tiered responses with patient contact, including procedures involving active airway management or likely to cause vigorous coughing.
- Level 4 PPE is required for:
- Patient assessment or care procedures with active and copious blood loss, vomiting, or diarrhea.
- Procedures likely to cause blood/fluid splattering or outpouring of bodily fluids.
- Minimum PPE requirements for tiered response (medical) calls include:
- Bunker Pants, Boots, or NFPA Approved Station Wear.
- Disposable Medical Exam Gloves.
- Safety Glasses.
- N95 Mask.
- Gowns or Bunker Coat are additionally required in the following conditions:
- Patients with possible communicable illness.
- Body fluid splash.
- Outbreak conditions.
