Explain the concept of gravitation.

Gravitation is the force of attraction between two objects in the universe. It may be the attraction of objects by the earth.

What is the Universal Law of Gravitation?

The Universal Law of Gravitation states that every particle of matter in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers. It can be mathematically represented as $F = G \frac{m_1m_2}{r^2}$, where $F$ is the force of attraction, $G$ is the gravitational constant, $m_1$ and $m_2$ are the masses of the objects, and $r$ is the distance between their centers.

What is free fall?

Free fall is the motion of an object when it is only under the influence of gravity. In this case, the only force acting on the object is the force of gravity, causing it to accelerate downward at a constant rate of $9.8 m/s^2$ near the surface of the Earth.

How is the value of G calculated?

The value of the gravitational constant, G, is determined through experiments involving the measurement of the force of attraction between known masses at known distances. The formula to calculate the value of G is $G = \frac{F r^2}{m_1m_2}$, where $F$ is the force of attraction, $r$ is the distance between the centers of the masses, and $m_1$ and $m_2$ are the masses of the objects.

Explain Archimedes’s Principle.

Archimedes’s Principle states that when a body is partially or completely immersed in a fluid, it experiences an upward buoyant force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body. This principle is expressed by the equation $F_b = \rho V g$, where $F_b$ is the buoyant force, $\rho$ is the density of the fluid, $V$ is the volume of the fluid displaced, and $g$ is the acceleration due to gravity.
