Grading System

The total grade is composed of 4 Creative Thinking Journal activities (29% of total grade), 5 Interactive Activities (29% of total grade), 1 Class Project (14% of total grade), and 2 Exams (29% of total grade).
The total points for each grade level are: 315 pts for A (90%), 280 pts for B (80%), 245 pts for C (70%), and 210 pts for D (60%).

Course Activity Time-On-Task Guidelines

Interactive Online Activities: 1-2 hours per lesson.
Research Papers: a minimum of 3-5 hours per week, possibly longer.

Email Communication

Use NAU email account for class communication.
Be specific about the subject of the email and the course section.
Check spelling, grammar, and punctuation before sending emails.
Expect responses to emails within 48 hours, Monday to Friday.
Do not ask for grades by email, instead, meet with the professor face-to-face.
Email communications should be professional and succinct, using an opening greeting and closing salutation.
