Life and Death
- The Gospel of Mark (5:21-43) records the story of Jesus healing a woman with severe bleeding for twelve years and raising Jairus’ daughter from the dead.
- Jairus, a synagogue official, begged Jesus to heal his sick daughter. While Jesus was on his way, a woman touched Jesus’ cloak and was healed from her bleeding.
- Jesus asked who touched his clothes. The woman confessed to him and he said, "Your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed of your trouble."
- Messengers arrived at Jairus's house to announce his daughter had died. Jesus told Jairus, "Don't be afraid, only believe."
- Jesus took Peter, James, and John to the room where the child was lying, took her by the hand, and said, "Talitha, koum" (which means "Little girl, I tell you to get up!").
- The girl got up and began walking around. She was twelve years old.

- The bodies of the dead will be raised and reunited with their souls.
Two Sacraments of Healing

Sacraments of Healing highlight the importance of spiritual and physical well-being in Catholic life.
-
They address forgiveness, reconciliation, and strength during times of illness and death.
-
Reconciliation (Confession):
- A source of healing and forgiveness for sins committed after Baptism.
- Through the sacrament of Reconciliation, Catholics confess their sins to a priest, receive absolution, and are reconciled with God and the Church.
- Reconciles individuals with God, helps grow in holiness, and renews their relationship with God.
-
Anointing of the Sick:
- Administered to those who are seriously ill, facing surgery, or experiencing old age.
- Through the anointing with holy oil and prayers of the priest, the sacrament brings spiritual and physical healing, comfort, and strength to the sick person.
St. Joseph
