Photoshop Pumpkin Wallpaper Creation

In Photoshop, create a new 1280x1024 pumpkin wallpaper.

Type in 100 dpi.

Fill the new file with black color, using the Paint Bucket Tool.

Find an Internet picture of a pumpkin isolated on its own.

To remove the white background we can click on the Magic Eraser tool then the white background.

If you want to resize your pumpkin you can press CTRL+T for transform, then use the corner sizing handles to resize your pumpkin image.

Now we want to start adding our glow under the pumpkin.

Click on the pumpkin layer then click on the “Add a layer style” button and choose “Inner Glow.”

Match the settings you see to the side.

The color glow should be black.

I resized the mouth using CTRL-T and the sizing handles on the edges.

Now you will add a glow to each of the parts on the face.

I will show you what options to use for each layer style then I will show you how to apply the same settings to the other parts of the face.

We will start with the nose.

Copy the settings you see in the image below, then change the “Blend Mode” to “Color Dodge” and the “Opacity” to 50%.

Change the “Elements” box to 16.

Now you will set the layer styles for the “Inner Glow.”

Copy the settings you see in the image below, then change the “Blend Mode” to “Soft Light” and the “Opacity” to 50%.

Change the “Elements” box to 128.

Click on the “Save” button.

Your pumpkin wallpaper is now finished.

To create a pumpkin, start by drawing a basic shape on a layer, then add a gradient overlay and layer styles.

Next, add a stroke and write text beneath the pumpkin.

To create a soft light, use the brush tool to create a light source from the pumpkin.

To make the light more realistic, add a second light source.

Finally, add a background and finish the pumpkin with a touch of color.
